On aches
We have many aches in English besides stomachache: backache, bellyache, headache, cluster headache, heartache, sick headache, and toothache. Stomachache can be written as one word or two. To find out which is more common, search for both "stomach ache" and "stomachache" on Google or Yahoo. The quotation marks are there to find exact matches only. If you are ever not sure about how a phrase or words are used, try some different options at Google or Yahoo. Compare the results and you can see what usage is common. If there are few or no examples for the usages you try, that means one of two things: Either your writing is unique or it is not quite accepted usage.
